VITAMIN D3 2000 I.U.

VITAMIN D3 2000 IU is a dietary supplement in high-dose Vitamin D tablets (2000 IU / 50 µg). One dose (1 tablet) provides 2000 International Units of Vitamin D3.

The intake of Vitamin D3 is essential for the health of our body, especially the teeth, bones and nervous system. The dietary sources of Vitamin D are limited: mainly fish rich in Omega-3, eggs, meat, milk and dairy products. It is also present in some vegetable sources (mushrooms, yeasts).

It is also naturally synthesized in our organism, precisely at the level of the epidermis: with the action of ultraviolet light the conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol (provitamin D3) into previtamin D3 takes place, followed by thermal isomerization to generate Vitamin D3.

Researchers estimate that a deficiency of this nutrient is easily found in the adult population, but especially in the elderly. Supplementation is therefore advisable, especially in those months of the year when sun exposure is minimal, and in case of an unbalanced diet, or in a vegan diet, with a minimum consumption of animal products.
